"Spent a night in a lovely comfortable bed with decent breakfast in morning. Main downside was a very poor electric shower with low water pressure and erratic temperature control. Some of the other fixtures and fittings need attention as well - TV sound distorted, bathroom extractor fan doesn't work properly, bathroom mirror appeared to have a built-in light but it didn't work or wasn't connected up. This was the ground floor room at the front. Was also surprised to see in the online listing that the place has a tennis court and a billiards room, perhaps it does but I didn't see info in the room about where they were."

"Very exceptional hotel experience, small exclusive experience our host was very knowledgeable of the history of the building and Glenmorangie whisky. Food was exquisite (though it is a set menu) so if you are fussy eater this may not work for you. The tuck cupboard is a very welcome benefit. Decoration of the rooms (bedrooms and communal) are all individually decorated to a high standard"

"We had a lovely stay at The Shore Hotel and couldn't fault it. The service was excellent from start to finish, and every member of staff was so friendly and welcoming - nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was delicious, and the whole hotel felt warm, cosy and beautifully looked after. You can really see the attention to detail in everything they do, which made our stay feel that little bit more special. We'd definitely recommend The Shore Hotel to anyone visiting the area and wouldn't hesitate to stay again!"

"We stayed in the No 10 Guesthouse for 4 nights last week. What a find!!! Our room was spacious, comfy bed, and beautifully furnished! The continental breakfast was exactly what we needed. Everyone we met at the guesthouse were very friendly. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone considering visiting Tain. The on-street parking was a huge bonus too."

"The Mansfield Castle Hotel is one of the traditionally furnished Scottish hotel with lots of tartan. Tain is quite a nice small town with some interesting bits and away from the A9. Service was good on checkin at the dining rooms and generally. We were upgraded to a turret suite as it was busy. Nicely eccentric with a huge bathroom. Dinner was fine, haddock good but Anne's lamb was tough. However some warnings No lift or porter No fridge No safe No hot breakfast (continental only) Also a bit expensive but then it was high season."
