I stayed at the ibis Style Poitiers Nord from 6/07/22 to 7/07/22. I found the hotel average for an ibis but the service was left wanting and staff seemed in short supply. My room was not ready when I arrived in mid afternoon and I waited for service at the bar as no staff were present. There were staff huddled in a small group, smoking and drinking in a corner of the terrace but it needed the reception personnel to summon one. WARNING - My visit was blighted by the fact that the hotel chose to make an unauthorised charge on my debit card, for the room rate, on the day of my arrival as a guarantee. The following day when I checked out I paid my invoice in full which included the room rate. I queried this by email and was assured that the charge had been refunded. This was not the case and as of now, 21/07/22 this has not been the case. It has resulted in countless hours of work with my bank who cannot credit may account. I will never stay in an ibis again.
