The Rifle Volunteer

One night stay. Nice room with separate entrance from main pub building. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Room is very close to the road and because the windows are old wooden ones which don't fit too well there is quite a bit of traffic noise. Didn't particularly bother me though. Would stay again.

I stayed here for one night.It was okay the toilets was old had to flush,the breakfast was good the room was warm. And the place was in pub, it was okay for me because my Brother lived about 1/2 mile away. They need more stuff so you can your clothes to hanger. I had problems with the wi-fi.A part from that I may come back because it was cheap.

Our stay at the Rifle Volunteer was lovely. The room was clean and warm and everything was to the highest standard for a building of its age. The staff were friendly helpful and accommodating and they also gave us advice on getting about the areaThe breakfast was continental, although there were some hot alternatives that you could help yourself to, so it was more than enough to satisfy any pallet. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Ware or visiting the surrounding area.

We held our son’s christening at this pub and the owner and staff could not do enough for us on the day and the lead up! After looking at many pub venues in Ware town centre this pub was by far the best option for a private event. The owner Nigel was so accommodating and could not do enough for us! He even gave us a bottle of champagne at the end of the night. It’s a perfect venue for a private/ intimate function, we comfortably had 60 people and the outside is secure for kids to run around (astroturfed too). Also, a couple of our friends stayed in the B&B overnight and they had a lovely sleep and great breakfast. I can also confirm their Pizza’s are super tasty too! Overall I can’t recommend enough and look forward to hosting our next event there in the near future!

The Rifle Volunteer has an interesting history. It was just right for my grandson's stay as he completed a training course at the local leisure centre. Very clean and comfortable. We all enjoyed a pizza in this traditional pub. Lovely staff.

Noisy, smelling pillows, on first impression seemed ok, but lots of let downs, very small double bed, small shower, nothing finished off, mouldy windows, dirty too.I could go with a massive list. Breakfast was diabolical, infact health inspector's need to visit, and would shut it down I am 100% sure, Not giving you the problems, its basic good practices. Would not recommend

It was comfortable although the room was very compact. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a small car park but it was full on the first night. On street parking is quite limited. It is only a 10 minute walk to Ware centre which has nice restaurants and a river. Breakfast was serve yourself continental which included a microwave with eggs and baked beans. I would be happy to stay here again
