If you’re in Manila, watching the sunset by the bay is an absolute must — and I think I’ve found the best spot for it!
Head to the MOA Eye, near the Mall of Asia. Just search it on your map — super easy to find. This area gives you the perfect, unobstructed view of the sunset over Manila Bay.
The beauty of a sunset near the equator is that it feels different. The sun hangs low, the sky burns orange and pink, and if the weather’s on your side (which it was for me), the whole scene looks straight out of a movie.
The MOA Eye itself adds to the atmosphere — the giant Ferris wheel lights up as evening falls, giving the whole bay area a laid-back, romantic vibe. It’s also a great photo spot if you’re into capturing the golden hour.
Pro tip: Check the sunset time on your iPhone — it’s surprisingly accurate! I arrived about 20 minutes before, found a good spot, and watched as the sky slowly transformed. No filter needed — the colours were incredible.
Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or on a date, this sunset spot won’t disappoint. After sunset, you can stroll along the bay, grab food at the Mall of Asia, or hop on the Ferris wheel for more views.
Trust me, Manila’s heat and traffic are instantly forgotten when you’re standing by the water, watching that glowing sun sink into the ocean.
Highly recommend adding this to your Manila itinerary!
