A hill with history
The Mote is a hill overlooking the coastline. Centuries ago there was a fortified settlement on the top, but now it's just a nice viewpoint. Take care on the path up & down as it can be a bit slipper...

We were walking from Rockcliffe to Kippford and so passed around this landmark, which is interesting and worth a visit

Worth a detour from the oath between Rockcliffe and Kippford . Lovely views. The path is quite accessible but obviously a climb .
