Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Andamans

We had been contemplating an Andaman trip for a few years. However, we didn’t go ahead with the plan as the accommodations and facilities weren’t promising enough for our “ideal fancy holiday” randomness, which by the way, we were so wrong to assume. This we had not realised until this summer when we actually took our big step to explore the ethereal island no matter what. And, what a holiday it was! Without a second thought, we would credit our amazing holiday experience to the Taj Exotica Resort Andamans. From pick-up on Day 1 to welcoming us at the reception, room allocation, briefing on various preferred activities, local tips, drop-off at the ferry on our last day, and many other arrangements, the services were impeccable. Oh yes, they really know how to pamper their guests. Some of the little gestures which absolutely took us in awe: 1. An entourage of cheerful smiling faces welcomed us with earthly humility the moment we were seated at the reception lobby. 2. The service heads personally joined the group to welcome us giving it a very personalised experience. 3. Welcome drinks were tender coconut juice from real coconuts presented in flower-shaped handmade jute baskets. A 1000-point for the eco-friendly and creative thought! 4. A soulful welcome song (in local language) by the entourage. The song was about Andaman and the island’s beauty. 5. The ‘chilled-out’ check-in process, unlike the usual long formalities at 5-star properties. It was all done even before we realised, all while we were seated at the huge airy reception lobby sipping our coconut water. 6. When they heard that it was my bucketlist wish to do scuba on my birthday, they arranged for a special scuba diving slot despite all regular slots being full. 7. A complimentary framed photo that completely took us by surprise. They took a photo of you after your check-in process was complete. In the evening, they came and handed the photo placed inside a delicately shell-decorated frame. 8. A surprise goodbye flower bouquet by the housekeeping staff, made from flowers grown at the property garden. 9. A surprise bon-voyage cake-cutting arrangement after breakfast on the check-out day. 10. A surprise manta ray memento from the Taj as a bon voyage gift before we got into the car for our return journey. 11. And this one is our favourite and the sweetest ever: the entire staff crew dropped us at the car and bid us a heartfelt goodbye by waving with both hands and kept waving until the car was out of sight from the property. Why you must stay in Taj Andamans if you are planning for an Andaman Island(s) trip: 1. The property is built with eco-consciousness. You will find centuries-old heritage and iconic trees inside the property. 2. The property has private access to Radhanagar Beach. It pretty much feels like a private beach because no one really walks to this end of the beach from the public access area. 3. Had the most amazing time at Taj Exotica.. The staff was extremely hospitable. Special call out to Abhishek and Manoharath for being great hosts and making us feel at home. Taj Exotica is several cuts above the rest and definitely one of the best properties we have ever holidayed in. We loved the fantastic food,the breathtaking view of the sea, the scenic pool, the clean n fabulous cottages . Overall it was a wonderful experience for the entire family and we look forward to our next stay with the Taj group of hotels.

The extra care and gestures by Rajeev and Imaran from the food and beverage department was absolutely a pleasure and made us feel the warm hospitality especially since we were travelling with a toddler and an infant. However on the second day of our stay our room was filled with 1000’s of insects and a frog and we were given a new room which was absolutely inconvenient since we had to shift our entire luggage and the room given had issues with the air conditioner and for 2 days that wasn’t sorted out. Very poor management of crisis by the manager at the hotel and absolutely disappointed by the way things were looked after by him. We would have appreciated a little more care since we were with two children who were fairly young.

I had one of most wonderful experience at Taj Andaman!! The property as the name suggets gives an exotic experience. The high tea at beach side with the sunset is the highlight of the stay!! I enjoyed my stay and I would recommend the place if one is looking for a perfect getaway!!!!

If you are in Andaman you should stay in this property in havelock. It has serene radhdhanagar beach. The facilities are amazing. Restaurants are very good quality. Turtle house is pool side and with live music everyday. It was my birthday so we went there. They made me feel really special. My kids want to celebrate their birthdays also here now

It is a great holiday destination for self discovery, connecting with nature, learning from the resort team about the place, great food and hospitality ..... would recommend to my friends and have even thanked Brij and team my face book post

The Frontdesk, Hospitality and Housekeeping are excellent. They truly uphold the TAJ brand. We were welcomed with a fantastic song and throughout our stay, it is the service which was outstanding. Few Suggestions. 1. They can be more polite when people land up in between break fast and lunch timings. We are in an island and we place ourselves under your care. We do not want NO as an answer when asked for Food. 2. The Chefs need to improve a lot. Their choices are very limited and do not consider who stay longer than 4 days. A little bit of customised food would be great.Their South Indian menu sucks. 3. The AC was malfunctioning when room was handed over. They fixed it very quickly but QC checks when handing over villa to guests should be done. 4. We had a 3 Year old and we kept food in the mini bar fridge to serve when he is hungry unfortunately we realised the mini bar did not work after 3 days when food got stale continously. 5. The Lamp Shade above the drawers on both sides of the bed should be held a liittle higher as we kept banging our head on it. People like Abhishek FO Manager , Imran (Dining) really made the stay enjoyable and delightful.

I had a great time during my stay at the Taj property in Havelock. Not only were the villas so beautifully designed but the staff went out of their way make our trip a comfortable and memorable one. The activities were well thought out and executed and the food was lovely too. I would definitely suggest you visit and stay at the taj whenever you plan on visiting the Andamans. Special shout out to- Ranjan, Ayan and Rahul Chetri for being such great hosts and providing amazing service.

Great experience, great staff and very welcoming. It was a very relaxed stay and we really enjoy our time there. We went there for a week and we were not bored on any day. They have plenty of in house activities and tie ups with a few companies for outdoor and water activities. The beach is really beautiful and the property is the best on the island.
