This hotel is recommended by my colleague as it is just across the train station and is not difficult to locate . From the look outside the hotel , it is very pleasant and homely, this is evident from the moment I was greeted by the staff at reception . The key system is rather unique because you need to exchange your room key for a smaller set of keys that open the main door since reception is attended till 7:00 pm. The room is typical of European which is very small with a single bed if you are staying alone . Well designed and clean room that I have nothing to complain about . Breakfast was simple with limited spread but no complains as this is very typical for such European hotel. Throughout my stay , every things runs good except the very weak internet making work rather challenging .

Hotel Ambassador in Solothurn has a small town charm and great location on a quiet street only 3 min. walking distance from the railway station. It is also conveniently near the river and bridges that lead you into the historic old town.

Cozy hotel, good location and friendly staff.

This hotel checked all my boxes for a short stay in Solothurn. I have stayed in the city many times on business trips but this time I was passing by privately. The hotel offers a very convenient location south of the river. A few parking paces for guests are available but they were occupied when we arrived. But the staff was very helpful in finding an alternative. There are a few parking garages (one with charging option which we were looking for) close by. Reception was very friendly and all the hotel details were explained very patiently. Rooms are basic but with comfortable beds and clean, properly working showers. There are no in-room coffee or tea facilities but guest can get free coffee from a machine near the reception. There is also a fridge with drinks and a request to write down anything you take from it. Very friendly. Breakfast also basic but good and it can be enjoyed on the small terrace in the back of the hotel. Prices are very friendly compared to the other (slightly more upscale) hotels in Solothurn.

The hotel was very clean. The staff was extremely nice & welcoming. The check-in kiosk outside the entrance was hard to navigate, but luckily the employere was nice & opened the door for us. There is a separate key for the room & the hotel entrance. All keys are on display for all rooms & you have to insert one key to get the other (you only get 1 key at a time.. either room or hotel door). They should update to a card system like most other hotels. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel & Solothurn has a lot to offer.

No Parking place, no good service, rooms look a bit good, the hotel is ok for quick stay

I couldn't sleep well: 1) the curtains were not dark/thick enough, so at 5.50 the first sun light came into the room waking me up; 2) and to make it worse, every time someone used the bathroom or the shower or the sink (not sure which one it was) in another room you heard the water going down the pipelines quite loudly, so quite a bad night. The owner was super nice and friendly.

Nice niche hotel. No A/C. Did not care for the login machine on the outside to get your key; I would rather meet directly with the person at the front desk. For after hours help, this would be fine but not just to replace the person at the front desk.
