Highgrove Guest House

We arrived around 8am and was given the keys but understandably the room was not ready and I had a relative in the Ironman competition that day and therefore did not return until 11pm. Had I seen the room prior to this late hour I would not have even stayed there. I contacted the accommodation via the booking site and they didn’t even acknowledge the state of the rooms or my email just said they would not be giving a refund, which I did not even ask for! Where do I start, items broken and dirty room….both head boards broken, broken lamp, 4 handles missing off draws, sink comes away from the wall, filthy grout around the shower and sink, what looked like blood on floor next to toilet, writing on the draws next to bed, broken blinds, unusable chair with the seat broken in half, filthy mug and spoon on tea tray, mould around the filter in kettle that resulted in all black bits pouring out in the water, dust and flakes of something in the draws, used tissues at the side of the bed, dust and debris in corners of the bathroom and along pipes. I paid £70 and would have expected this in prime area of London city centre for this price but very overpriced for what we got in that area. I read the reviews but in hindsight they are all from 2018 and early 2019 so must have deteriorated badly since then!! Room a good size but that’s the only positive. Managers of the business were friendly and very helpful but appeared rather dishevelled and unkept in appearance. Very disappointing :(

The room was very cozy and warm. Very clean. A gem of a place. Had everything you needed. A shower, comfy bed, TV and Kettle with complimentary Tea Coffee etc and shower cream. The lady who runs it is lovely. So welcoming and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. She was so kind. I would definately stay here again 100 percent. It is central tp everything. The train Station, Town Centre. Perfect.

l was given a really warm welcome by Nosh when he picked me up from the station, Nina also gave me a warm welcome & l felt one of the family. Having just lost my mum that was very important to me. Nothing was too much trouble for them. l had to extend my stay & my brother had to have a room as well. Can recommend this to anyone who wants somewhere to stay close to the station & shops. Rooms were clean & beds very comfortable.

We booked in a client for a week. Be warned that the key to the main door can easily break and cost you a fair bit of money to pay for a replacement. As it was our client staying there, we asked for the receipt for replacement for key cut. They told us they had it cut and have the receipt and would not be a problem. Well it was such a hassle and eventually got a hand written invoice which was obviously just written by them. I’m no convinced that it cost as much as they said it was otherwise they would have showed us the receipt! Poor customer service. We will definitely not be sending anyone there!
