Chalet of Canandaigua

The location was as we remembered it, really lovely. However it is quite evident that the Chalet has changed hands. The food while good was not what we expected. The young man who welcomed us was very nice and accommodating. But we got no instruction on how to use the heater or fireplace in our room, when we left for the day the bed was not made and trash not taken from the room. We left something behind by accident and we cannot get anyone to contact us to recover it. We loved Patty and Margaret, the previous owners, but those days are gone…too bad.

We had a fantastic visit to Canandaigua! If you want to relax & be pampered, the Chalet is the place to go! It is warm, cozy & beautifully decorated for Christmas. The attention to our every need by both owner Mike, & Innkeeper “He He” was definitely 5 star! The presentation & quality of food was beyond our expectations. Breakfast was so special & the evening desserts were yummy!! We loved visiting some special spots while in the Finger Lakes including Muranda Cheese Company, Glenora Winery & and neat little spot with outstanding food in Naples, Old School Cafe. A memorable birthday trip for my hubby. Great people, great place!

We stayed for 3 nights and had a terrific time. Patty and Margaret are excellent hosts with an expansive knowledge of the area. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. The B&B is nestled on 30 private acres with nature all around. The rooms are well appointed and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast is an experience with a 3 course start to your day. Each days's offerings were unique and delicious with a special flair. The B&B is a cozy log design with open seating in two large rooms and a porch with fire pit and blankets when cool. It was a memorable stay.

This was our first B&B experience and what an experience it was. This is a gem of a place for those looking a for quiet restful break away from a busy day to day life style. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and highly enjoyable. A well appointed bedroom is complemented with a spacious bathroom that has a generously sized bath tub and a walk-in shower. Taking a soaking bath after going on a wine tasting tour at the finger lakes was quite relaxing. As good as the place is what made our experience even better was the people. From the owner, Mike, who went out of his way to get us flowers despite the rather late timing of my request to the amazing daily breakfast we were served by the kind and fascinating inn-keeper Ge—Ge the treatment we received was better than we could have hoped for. We just loved our stay. We will definitely go back.

I can't think of anything we didn't enjoy. The host was amazing and definitely introduced us to some interesting breakfast choices. Very rustic style room with an amazing bathroom. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit as well! I look forward to coming back!!

Awesome experience...loved everything about the room...amazing tub, great decor and great breakfast! We also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit with a few glasses of wine. I cannot say enough about our amazing host Gege who made sure we had everything we needed along with great conversation. We will definitely be back.

If your traveling to the Finger Lakes region, this is a lovely place to stay. Small, quaint and lovely on a great piece of property. But its BIGGEST asset is "Jerry" (aka Geraldo from Mexico City), the chef and keeper. This is one very friendly dude who also knows his way around the kitchen! Smiles, kind words, etc. the kind of person thatmakes you feel at home. Definitely would go back!

Another great experience at The Chalet of Canandaigua! Beautiful, friendly and kind hosts who make you feel so welcome and are so talented in the kitchen, serving delicious food! The atmosphere is so relaxing, welcoming and we wish we could stay longer each time we visit! The location is convenient and views are fabulous - we highly recommend visiting The Chalet!!!

Had a fantastic stay at the Chalet. We stayed in the Balcony room. Room was beautiful and so comfortable. Bathroom was large and had all amenities including a soaking tub. Breakfast was out of this world delicious. Margaret and Patty were wonderful hostesses and made sure our every need was taken care of.
