Abbazia Collemedio Resort & Spa

Throughout our stay at Abbazia Collemedio we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.The restaurant in particular was beautiful with stunning views across the Umbrian countryside and the staff excellent,the menu was good and would suit most tastes,the wine menu was unbelievably extensive.The breakfast was amazing and such a varied choice,again something for everyone. This hotel was such a lovely surprise. I knew it was highly rated, but it far exceeded the reviews. Not only were the rooms beautiful, but the staff, especially Rachele and the manager of the hotel (so sorry I don’t remember his name), in addition to another woman at the reception, were beyond fantastic. Our room was upgraded (without us even asking) and Rachele (hope I’m spelling this right!) made us feel right at home and as if we had been friends forever. I would go back in a second. I can’t say enough about how great our experience was here!

From start to finish this hotel provided a warm and welcoming stay. We were on a 5 day half board package and enjoyed everything - the friendly staff, good food choices each evening, the choice at breakfast and the laid back feeling. Nothing was too much trouble. Our trip included an hour’s exclusive use of the spa - an added bonus! Yes, tour groups come and go but the staff in the bar and restaurant are more than up to the challenge. We enjoyed walks into the surrounding countryside and equally the easy access to Assisi and Perugia.

I should have none better but based on the excellent reviews and the photos I booked this place for two nights at the last minute while traveling through Umbria. I think they probably serve mostly bus tour groups. Three stars because the woman at the front desk was helpful and accommodating but the place itself feels worn and tired. They first gave us a small dark room but later moved us to a larger room. The rooms were clean but just nowhere near as nice as you might think given the name and the photos. Breakfast was included in our rate but similar to the hotel the quality was subpar. I wouldn't stay here again.

This hotel is beautifully situated in the Umbrian hills. The pool and gardens were really lovely. From the moment we arrived we experienced extraordinary kindness and courtesy. The three female receptionists could not do enough to ensure that our stay was wonderful. Our room was serviced daily by two ladies who ensured we were offered maximum cleanliness & comfort. We didn't have transport and the hotel were really obliging offering a reliable taxi service. Breakfast was beautiful - a real variety off foods with a lady in charge who welcomed us and made sure her guests were happy. Each morning we were offered regional chocolate to compliment the fresh fruits & croissants! The wine tasting excursion was well worth a visit. The outside bar area was relaxing & all purchases went on a room tab. We will definitely return and loved the two weeks we spent at Abbazia Collemedio.

Wow, what a special place! I can't sing high enough praises for the staff of the Abbazia Collemedio resort, they truly made our trip and I have not met kinder people (especially in hospitality!) My mom and I stayed here for four days during our trip through Italy, and it served as the perfect home base to explore Umbria and the surrounding cities. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the property is quiet, beautiful and the view can't be beat. They helped us arrange transportation to and from Rome, and then daily excursions to some of the local towns - we went to Perugia, Assisi and Spello, all of which I highly recommend. We had dinner each night at their restaurant, I will dream about their tiramisu until we are able to return :) Thank you to the entire Abbazia Collemedio team, we can't wait to visit again! x

After a 21-hour travel day, Abbazia Collemedio made all of our stress melt away immediately. Front Desk agent Michaela was delightful, and immediately offered to feed us even though the kitchen was closed. Bartender Luigi, whom we now consider a dear friend of ours, provided us not only with a bottle of red wine to accompany the lovely and delicious charcuterie plate, but stories and advice that we look for in locals as we're traveling. We made time to have a chat with him each day. The hospitality is top-notch, the dinner menu is surprisingly divine (if you see the Boar Ragu and Taglietelli, ORDER IT), and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. As we were here at the start of low season, we did not get to experience the pool, but were more than happy with what they had for us. * Note that this property is tough to find in the dark, coming from Rome. But once you find it... wow - what an oasis! We easily traveled to Orvieto and Montefalco from here.

Just returned from are return visit to this super Hotel. Location is up a steep, rutted drive through a wood, but you are rewarded by a great hilltop situation , and a fine beautifully retired monastery building , with wide views over Umbrian hills. Staff and service are excellent , our rooms was quiet. comfortable and cosy. Food had improved, and wide choice of local wines . Lovely gardens and two swimming pools, and a spa which was well used by others. Great value off season, but you will need a car!

Spent 4 nights as a solo traveller at this amazing hotel and from the moment I arrived I could not fault the customer service, the hotel, food and staff. Nothing was too much trouble for this amazing team at the fantastic hotel. The food was incredible, the hotel was immaculate and the views and ground outstanding.
