Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort

A very large resort a small supermarket but if not all inclusive would be a problem as to getting cabs to the local town could get expensive Night life for kids good but adults cannot even seat outside in the evening s with a drink as pool bar closes at 6 pm Unless you go to the payable restaurants and champs sports bar not very good if paid for all inclusive We was in block 7 but as there are still steps to the lift if getting on a bit would be a problem as me and my wife 70 and 65 years Overall as we had our son his wife and 3 small grandchildren but they 4 minutes walk away why we wasn’t put nearer each other one would never know but we did not book at the same time they were near the reception and dinning room but did have a few cockroaches in there room trying to use the microwave Overall good resort large pools

Pros- lovely room, lovely view (we booked sea view) every single staff member amazing, lovely food different every day, 25 min to walk in to town if you wanted something different. Cons - shower could have been a bit better kind of like dripped out but for me that was it. I’ve been on a few holidays and I have to say has been the only one where I’ve said I’d definitely come back. Absolutely love the place

Beds comfy. Rooms clean. Pools ice cold and food is just as cold. Didn’t have one hot or even warm meal. Too cold and windy for kids. Hotel nice, drinks nice. Gym good. Depends what you’re after. If it’s food and something for the kids I wouldn’t recommend

We returned from this hotel, after a week, yesterday. We hired a car at the airport and to be honest, if you’re staying here, you need one! There is nothing, close by apart from the hotel. The resort of Teguise is probably a forty minute walk but you can get a bus from outside the hotel. The room was lovely, recently renovated with loads of space, a large balcony too and we had paid for a sea view. We also had a fabulous view of the power station with smoke coming out of the chimneys …. not sure how healthy that is! The cleaning was hit and miss, you couldn’t walk barefoot on the floor because it definitely wasn’t cleaned properly. It was all a bit of a rush job, make the bed, change the towels , that’s it. We were half board and the food was the worst bit. Unless you got to the restaurant for 6.30 ish you ended up queuing for a table, not what you want on holiday. The food was worryingly cool and we avoided meat for safety reasons. Salad was very basic and the food in general wasn’t that great. Breakfast was better but stuff like bacon and sausages looked a bit grim, we had mainly dry stuff and fruit. Even the yogurt was in big bowls, uncovered with people breathing over it and dipping in… yum The island of Lanzarote has improved so much since our last visit, ten years ago , we drove all over and it’s so beautiful and unspoiled. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but I think we will rent an apartment next time.

Booked & stayed for 9 nights in Late January, very pleased all round. Food was plentiful, plates were hot, selection was marvellous, nothing to complain about. Reception Staff were brilliant, cleaning Lady was full of personality, bar staff were good. Location was perfect one Euro to get into Town on the bus or four Euros in taxi and all were similar. Great walk along the promenade to Costa Teguise Town 50 metre pool was well worth the 3 Euro charge, lots of activity in the day, evening entertainment did show some great Artists, especially the 3 singers. All in All I cannot wait to return. 5++++++++++++++++

Terrific hotel. Great facilities and entertainment. Classes were great too! In particular the yoga on the water with Hannah. She was very nice and accommodating. The pools are wonderful, and the food was delicious. We mainly ate at the buffet, but this was more than sufficient.

Just back from 2 weeks fantastic holiday at the Barcelo active lauzsarote and from day 1 everything was unbelievable great let me start room was brilliant cleanliness 11 out of 10 cleaning staff 100% the pools perfect olivevinia restaurant so many amazing choices but for that little bit more you must go royal level and you get that much more person touch much smaller restaurant again what wonderful staff can never do too much for you a private pool with a bar and snacks the plenty to do or if you want to relax with the royal level you get a voucher for koy restaurant or la dolce vita restaurant which are special and a fantastic experience I can highly recommend this hotel experience staff so happy to help you I love it so much I'm going back for a month at Christmas

We were in room 1006 which had cockroaches everywhere. Getting moved was not easy as the Manager had gone home! Got moved to 6123 - issues there too - balcony doors were faulty we got locked out! No British TV on the island only Spanish, until we found out that was not true. Lifeguard staff member really rude.Whole experience was awful.

After my recent visit to this hotel I was not impressed with the all inclusive having to pay for the a la carte restaurants also my wife has a medical condition which requires has refrigerated but the minibar was not adequate so had to put in the reception fridge but was not adequate having to go backwards four times a day also sea view payed for look onto hotel air con units
