What an amazing Riad, located in the heart of the Medina, for this first time visitor to Morocco. Calm. Quiet. A respite from the chaos of the Square and souks. Walid was a joy, making sure everyone was happy and had what they needed. Even though I did not know Arabic or French, communicating was great. And the staff are friendly and thoughtful and thorough. A great way to begin my Moroccan experience.

Very disappointing experience — poor management and unacceptable attitude We arrived at the riad and found no one at reception. No welcome, no instructions, no basic information provided. We had to figure everything out on our own. During our stay, the only staff member present was a kind girl who prepared breakfast and cleaned the rooms, but due to the language barrier, communication was very limited. The main issue, however, was the manager, Walled. He behaved in an authoritarian, impolite and disrespectful manner, especially toward us as a group of women. We asked him to arrange a taxi to the airport. He gave us a price, which we paid. Hours later, he returned claiming the cost was higher, without apologizing for the incorrect information and refusing to let us ask any questions. The tone was rude and final. The next day, he messaged us on WhatsApp, calling us “the worst clients” and wrongly accusing us of leaving without paying for a bottle of water, which had never been mentioned. Back in Italy, we found that the riad had cancelled our reservation on Booking, falsely stating that we never checked in — clearly to avoid reviews. We behaved respectfully throughout. The treatment we received was unacceptable.

We were absolutely happy when we stayed at Abelia Riad for my partner's birthday away celebration. Perfect room for us, love the ambiance and the place….. The birthday surprise was absolutely amazing! Bespoke and indeed unforgettable !!! We were truly grateful and appreciate the gesture. The hospitality was above and beyond. Faisal is so knowledgeable, accommodating, kind, funny and a wonderful host. Guided Brett and I where to go complete with a map…. Impressive! The Receptionist at Dar Salam Palm where we supposed to be staying were very welcoming, made us feel comfortable and relax. Respectful, informative and knows how to protect us as guest of the property. Highly recommended!!! A million thanks once again.

The night staff member was very unprofessional and aggressive when asked for extra towels and help with transfers. The pictures online are years old as the riad is now extremely damp and smells of damp mold which is everywhere and not clean. There is lack of any form of customer service and the location is not safe once dark. We would never return. Wish we read the bad reviews before coming now!!!!

Having booked this Riad for a few days while in Marrakech after arriving we became to feel unsafe due to the location so we had to use taxis everywhere which we went didn’t mind about. However the staff on reception was extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, everything was a problem for him to help us with and he would disappear for long periods when needed. He made us both feel uncomfortable as two women With how over friendly he made us when he would appear. The was dressed in gym clothing too which is extremely unprofessional but that set the stone in how this business is run. He pretty much bullied us to give him a 5 star review also which he hasn’t got the skills for that hence their one star ⭐️. The riad is very dated, dusty, nosey with building work which we were not told About. There is damp and mold everywhere which gave me a chest infection, the place is not to a clean standard at all and the breakfast was so slow, basic and not worth the time for. So after a 1 and a half’s days we packed up and left and moved to a safer, cleaner riad with staff who wanted to help its customers. As females I would advise to avoid this riad.

Fantastic Riad - I have to admit that it was with slightly mixed feelings when we walked down the small alley late at night, which was not very inviting at first - but wow - when the door was opened - the riad was so beautiful and our room was fantastic. Very authentic - and nice and clean. Subsequently, we changed our opinion about the small strait to think that it was incredibly authentic. A special warm thank you to Fayssal who was exceptionally sweet and helpful - we really felt taken care of. We can only recommend it warmly!

Excellent stay in Abelia Riad. The Riad experience is a must in any stay to Marrakech - such a beautiful window into local life. Special mention to our host Fayssal who went over and above to make our stay memorable including being very responsive over text, coming to find us when lost in souk and solving any problems in the stay. Thanks to Fayssal and the team!

The pictures are misleading, our Suite...well if you can call it that was very dark and only had one bed in it after we had booed a twin bedded room. The Riad was grubby and no-one greeted us apart from the cleaner who didn't speak any English. The breakfast was poor ...dry bread and dry pancakes and we were offered a meal on the night we arrived at the cost of Euros 30 but we're charged more. The plunge pool was dirty and Yacine the receptionist was in the pool when we came down for dinner making us feel very uncomfortable....I whole the Riad was very disappointing and we only stayed one night. The area did not feel safe especially as we were two woman travelling alone and we were constantly getting harrased ...also its a 30 minute walk to the main square along some very not nice alleys.....Avoid this Riad at all costs there are lots of really excellent ones that are cheaper and nearer to main square

we stayed on nigh tab the apartment. The location, the staff, the friendliness are superb. From our terrace we had a wonderful view. The staff was helpful in organizing transportation, beer and wine and food. we can highly recommend this place

Where to start ? The area is extremely unsafe and full of harassment on tourists. The riad management did not host me and my wife as we didn’t have a marriage certificate with us. They said it is mentioned on their booking policy which is not!! There was not refund of the money and the Riad management communicated to *********** that I didn’t show up to justify that I’m not eligible for refund . DONT STAY THERE no matter what !!!

The two gentleman that assisted us were so welcoming and friendly. They took very well care of us despite how we felt towards the misleading pictures of the hotel, the trek not mentioned to the hotel was the first downfall to the hotel as we were ambushed by people on the street to take help us with our bags. The presidential suite looked nothing presidential, and look like the wardrobe was scratched at. The images are super misleading and if it weren’t for the two gentleman the stay wouldn’t have been enjoyable.

Wenn du eine authentische und traditionelle Abenteuer suchst, dann ist dieses Hotel genau das was du suchst. Eine richtige Aladin feeling, als wäre man in einem Film leben. Obwohl das Hotel wirklich mitten einer Madina ist, ist es dermaßen ruhig in dem Hotel und man hört wirklich null von draußen. Das magische dran ist aber, sobald du raus aus dem Hotel bist, bist du vom anderen Universum umgeben was für mich eine perfekte blend from everything feelings gab. Die Mitarbeitern sind extrem nett, hilfsbereit, höflich und freundlich. Der Rooftop ist mega abends um Sternen zu schnuppern und relaxen, Zimmer ist sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Alle sind zuvorkommend und willkommend. Wir waren eine 4-köpfige Familie mit Kindern von 5Monate und 4Jahren. Es war zwar ein kleine Marathon durch den Madina mit kleinen Kindern zu laufen, aber das Abenteuer hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Ich empfehle dieses Hotel und den Abenteuer für jeden und allen.

Alloggiare in una struttura che rispecchia usi e costumi locali è senza dubbio preferibile al resort, respiri l'atmosfera del luogo, parli con la gente ed instauri un rapporto umano, contrariamente a quanto appunto succede in un resort dove c'è un netto distacco tra il cliente ed il dipendente e dove tutto è stato creato per soddisfare le esigenze di noi occidentali. Ho mangiato benissimo, ho conosciuto Mohamed, addetto alla reception che è una persona squisita, e l'host senza averlo mai incontrato, si è dimostrato gentilissimo concedendoci un late check out. Sono davvero dispiaciuto di essere tornato a casa. Non mi sento di dire cosa migliorerei perchè andrei a snaturare la genuinità della struttura stessa, offrire servizi aggiuntivi sarebbe occidentalizzare ciò che non è, credo vada benissimo così, almeno per me.

Vrouwelijk personeel is vriendelijk en professioneel, maar de manager Waleed heeft ons zeer onbehoorlijk behandeld. Hij was er niet toen we aankwamen en we zijn toen in de verkeerde kamer ingedeeld. Toen we daar later op terugkwamen, kregen we een onverkwikkelijke discussie, waarbij we onterecht beschuldigd werden van het opzettelijk geven van foute informatie en waarbij zelfs gedreigd werd de politie erbij te halen. Dat terwijl we absoluut te goeder trouw hebben gehandeld. Zelfde verhaal als bij een andere review: nadat we betaald hadden, werd de reservering gecanceld, overduidelijk bedoeld om een negatieve review op *********** te voorkomen.
