Like so many others I was horrified at the reviews and apprehensive to go and have to say I was right to feel this way.. Arrival onsite at reception was fine although we did notice how basic the place looks. Given the keys to 262 and off we went to find our digs. Once we opened the sliding doors (which hardy slid at all) we were instantly disappointed. Continuation of basic and dated, empty painted kitchen cupboards, no kettle, cutlery etc. A tv with only 8 channels if your lucky, intermittent hot water for a shower but the worst has to be the paper thin walls, especially if your neighbour likes a few shandies and the other side have a young baby.. even their conversations sounded like shouting. We went to TUI welcome meeting the next morning in the hotel bar, the rep was Margaret who was lovely, she was enthusiastic about Menorca, although she was hard to hear over unruly kids trying out the gym situated in the bar!! We used the centre pool outside our apar**ent, which my 11 year old did enjoy, but if you look closely you will see the black mold just above the water line, the floor of the pool is also quite mouldy and not cleaned. If fact we didn't see it getting cleaned at all during our week there. The sun loungers were filthy with stretched saggy material and some were broken, the small tables around the pool are ingrained black dirt, there are only a few sun parasols and the one I did try and open was broken, shouldn't be surprised.. On appearance the dining room looks OK, the 2 ladies did their best to keep it clean but are definitely under pressure, some night we hard to clear and set our own table to be able to eat. So on to the food..I am not the fussiest of eaters butbi did struggle most nights, most dishes were very sloppy, chips/ potatoes one night and not another, again fried eggs/ pancakes when they could be bothered. I didn't expect the best dining experience but really struggled to find something to eat to the point I ate tomato pasta from the kids section a few nights or i would have went hungry. Flies are an issue to be honest, but them the dining room haven't made any provision to help this, main doors wide open all the time, no fly zapping light boxes etc, constantly shoeing flies away from your food or drinks when at the pool. Splashworld is OK, by this time you don't expect anything fancy. Certainly the rides are old and rough around the edges, flies are relentless but by a few days in you don't expect anything else. One serious issue was a very drunk British guy hoovering around the pool for a few hours before hotel management called the police, it was very intimidating especially as he was shouting and going from one end to another, eventually 8 police arrived and warned him to stay in his apar**ent or he would be arrested, hotel just took to long to deal with especially considering the pool was very busy with families. To sum up the place needs rubbed out and started again, shame on TUI advertising it as a 4 star, 2/3
