Hotel Apartamento Solverde

I spent 5 nights in this hotel and it was a pleasant memory as It was nearer to the beach and has all the kitchen utensils. The cleaning was done everyday and Sandra at the reception was extremely helpful. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is basic but very clean and the room was cleaned every day . The only criticism would be no tea or coffee on arrival as we arrived late and really needed a drink . The staff in the hotel are extremely polite , friendly and helpful . It’s in a great location and we chose to stay here because the train station is literally a 2/3 minutes walk . Easy access to the very beautiful Porto on two days using the very efficient and extremely cheap public transport . Try to avoid rush hour for travelling as it gets packed . Then a train ride to Aveiro too - like the Venice of Northern Portugal . Espinho itself is charming and quaint with a laid back feel , although in October is very quiet . We even had good enough weather to swim in the sea on two days day near to the surfers . There are also some lovely bars and restaurants . Crowd bar just around the corner is lovely with warm, friendly staff , great value and good for breakfast and a coffee. The View just around the corner which is great for live Portuguese music at the weekend and excellent staff , decent Porto tonico ! Sapiens restaurant for a lovely Francesina Portuguese meal . There’s a lovely Italian restaurant , some kebab houses etc. for cheap and cheerful . I would recommend staying here but I might prefer the summer for a longer stay . Overall a lovely experience if you don’t wish to stay in Porto itself .

Reception staff were really helpful when we arrived early,eg let us park in car park and use toilet. The apartment had a lovely sea view and a comfy sofa. It was plenty large enough for two people but did need updating. The bed especially so as it was creaky and uncomfortable, spoiling our experience to a certain degree. The kitchen was very basic and had no preparation space without us moving the microwave out of the way, it was in need of a major upgrade.

Noise - it’s what I will remember from this trip. We were put on the second floor looking on to the ******. The first night we had to listen to live music until the early hours. Then on top of that the room above were so noisy and were talking and walking about (sounded like heels) until at least 5:30am. Then there was the dog barking in their room. I spoke to reception who told me the hotel was full - but that the people in that room were checking out that day. If that is, in fact true, a very similar sounding dog and people with the same footwear checked in. I was told at reception I could phone down if there was noise. It was a shame - other than that I found the staff to be friendly. The room/apartment was spacious (although not modern and no usb charging. I found it strange to have one small tv in the apartment - and none in the bedroom. That said that is probably more a reflection on me and modern culture of tv always being on. Dining nearby was pretty fairly priced. We got their free parking (but didn’t move the car for our stay in case there wasn’t any when we got back). Beach is basically across the road. If lying on the beach is your thing then it has an excellent location. Town had some pleasant shops.

Stayed here for three nights. The apartment was basic (but clean) and large. Plenty of room for a family of four. The staff are very helpful. Our son was surfing and stood on a spider fish that needed for him to put his feet in a bucket of hot water for 30 minutes. Though we had check out of the room the staff provided this and a towel. Can’t thank them enough. Also in a great location - next to the beach but also very quiet.

Excellent stay. Everything was great. Supermarket, restaurants in close proximity. Ocean view from balcony is amazing

Perfect for my needs, reasonably clean, kitchen reasonably equipped, bed ok but squeaky. Wifi ok. Staff very friendly. Very noisy not much sound proofing. Shops annd transport very close. Also a stone throw away from the beach. Everything just needs updating. I was there for a HT with Bruno Ferreira so basically room bound and the apartment suited me fine.

30 minutes away from Porto. Near the beach. Nothing exciting or special. The building is 50 years old. The breakfast lacks variety. No beach view from breakfast room. The bar in the ground floor was more closed then open.
