Hotel Casa Gaia

This hôtel located in a beautiful garden with lot of birds and flowers is clean. The food is nice and the breakfast offers a wide range of choice. The waiters are just incredibly efficient and kind. We rarely meet people like these. We recommend without hesitation.

Lovely welcome in the friendliest hotel with very caring, attentive staff. Set in beautiful grounds- a stark contrast to the not so prepossessing area of Coban. Helpful to have a good value laundry service and the owner to take care of our valuables.

It was hard to find a proper hotel in the remote and somewhat dingy town of Coban, Guatemala. Coban can be used as a mid point for Semuc & Lanquin, which have VERY limited options for accommodations as well, maybe even more so. After a ton of searching I found Casa Gaia - and it looked lovely and quaint from the pics. After a long ride from Guatemala City, it was a treat to check in to this surprising gem with its gorgeous gardens and setting!! Wow! And the staff!!! I was greeted with such kindness, helpfulness and warmth. They helped with everything including laundry and my room was very clean, comfortable and sufficient for my 4 night stay - I ate almost every meal at their delicious, convenient and good value on site restaurant - thanks to Walter especially for your service! I cannot recommend this hotel more - thank you Casa Gaia!!

Casa Gaia was a hard find in the somewhat remote and dumpy town of Coban, Guatemala. I chose Coban as a homebase for visiting Semuc Champey and Bombil Pek, as both were 2 hours from Coban and the town of Coban offered slightly more than Lanquin. From my internet research, Coban had very few accommodation options outside of hostels and sketchy room shares, but after a ton of research I landed on Casa Gaia - the hotel's website and reviews seemed favorable, although somewhat limited, so my expectations were low. However, I had nothing to worry about as upon arrival I was immediately impressed with the gorgeous gardens and greeted with so many smiles and warmth from the hotel staff. The room was clean and very sufficient for my 4 night stay - the staff even helped clean my laundry! The on site restaurant was delicious and provided EXCELLENT service (thank you Walter!) - such a blessing not having to venture out for a meal after long, wet days of adventure. I cannot recommend this hotel more - an absolute gem - thank you Casa Gaia!!

We've spent 2 nights in Casa Gaia while visiting Semuc Champey national park. We found out Casa Gaia to be a jam after a long drive from Antigua. This hotel answers all your needs. The room is comfy and clean, good restaurant for dinner and a very nice park for short hike to relax after long day. In addition, I have to mention the hotel owner who was very friendly to us and highly attentive to our requests. One of our best stays during our visit in Guatemala

A garden paradise in an otherwise average city ! Very courteous and helpful staff and owner. English spoken. Good restaurant and bar. Spacious and comfortable room. It’s about 20 min walk from el Parque Central but taxis are cheap. The garden is spectacular, we had a hummingbird coming to say hi to the flowers on our terrace. And there is a lower level of the garden with ponds to explore

We stayed gor two nights in this beautiful hotel and were sorry to leave. The hotel is very clean and safe and very well maintained .The garden is fabulous. We also ate breakfast and dinner and enjoyed it very much. The staff is caring and nice. We highly recomend this hotel.

What I liked about the property was that is was very nice and clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. What i greatly appreciate is that we arrived very late after hours and they allowed us in the property. They had sent us an email informing us that the latest ck in was 12 midnight and i felt like we were not going to be allowed in. After a few messages they agreed. Once we arrived i believe we were met by the owner or manager of the property and he made sure he informed us to check in the morning. Again, in the morning my husband ran into this person and once again he told him to ck in. I felt like we were being stalked for the check in. That part i didnt like. It would be nice for the price of the rooms the breakfast would be included, which was not. When i reserved thru ******* I had choosen a room for 5 but once i put in the CC info it reserved for 2 and when we were at the property the manager or owner I belived charged us a bit HIGH but since we had no option or choice to go to another facility we paid the price. This I dodnt appreciate or like.

This place is very clean and staff is always very careful. We checked in as a family of four. Rooms are clean, everything works. We like how private the place feels. and it is very safe for family and children. we will definitely come back again.
