Yalis Hotel

This was our first visit to Alonnissos, but we will definitely be back and we would not hesitate to rebook this bespoke little hotel as it is quite simply fabulous! From the warm welcome on arrival, to the extended free of charge check out time on the day of departure, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and the view from the breakfast terrace each morning was wonderful. We booked a Junior Suite with a sea view and the room exceeded our expectations at every level, with a fabulous vaulted internal ceiling, breath taking sea views and spotlessly clean! We walked from the port with a suitcase on arrival and although the initial hill out of town was a bit of a challenge, there is a great bakery with outdoor seating at the top of the hill and so we recharged our batteries here, before completing our journey. Within 24 hours of arrival though, we discovered a short cut from the hotel, which took us to the port in half the time and past two great beach side tavernas and to a further taverna which was situated in an elevated spot above the port. The hotel is also only a few hundred yards from the quaint harbour village of Votsi in the opposite direction and there is a great coastal path on the opposite side of the bay. There was one person at the Yalis who needs a special mention though, as she made our stay exceptional and that was MARY. This young lady is a fabulous asset to this hotel, she has great people skills and she could not do enough for us from the moment we arrived, even insisting on personally delivering a carafe of wine to our room, with a plate of fresh fruit and some nibbles, when we simply wanted to order a drink from the bar one evening to drink on our balcony! I loved the hotel. Very nice room with gorgeous view on the sea. Beautiful pool and excellent service of towels. The beach is only a 5 minutes walk. I made the most of it without a car but that’s challenging, especially in the evenings because there is not much going on in the nearby Votsi and the walk to Patiri is not very pleasant. But I got takeaway food from nearby little joints and ate on my balcony and that was lovely. My only not so positive comment would be about the breakfast which is below expectations for such a place, especially when it comes to the coffee! Watery filter coffee is included, espresso is extra and not very good either. I think they should make an effort to improve the coffee offer to be just perfect

We arrived at this hotel after a 4 hour ferry trip from Thessaloniki. It is situated a couple of kilometres from Patitiri, the port and largest town in Alonnisos. We were fortunate to be able to check in immediately despite the relatively early hour. our studio was large and we were just able to see the sea from the little balcony ouside. Breakfast was really enjoyable and was helped by the fact that there were few people at this small hotel. The views from the patio over the sea were lovely and the freshly squeezed orange juice and the local yoghurt delicious. All staff were really friendly throughout our stay and we got the impression that the hotel was probably family-run, such was the convivial atmosphere there. A number of guests had hired cars and that would certainly be a good idea as the hotel is quite a walk back to Patitiri and the bus service on the island is very limited. However, short walks will take you to a small supermarket and there are a number of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. There is a very nice pool area and a more sheltered seating area above it, both offering delightful sea views. Overall, we were very pleased with our choice of hotel on this beautiful, quiet island.

We never expected to get a hotel this nice. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, the view from the room is perfect. The staff of the hotel are absolutely the best. Breakfast is wonderful and the poolbar is great. This was way beyond our expectations! We had a fantastic time here and we will back when we are on Alonissos again.

Stayed here recently for 3 nights and loved it! From the minute we arrived, the service was fab and friendly. We were in room 14 which was a large studio with partial sea view. Lovely pool area and bar that stays open until late. Fantastic views. It’s a good 20 min walk into Patitiri where the port is which has lots of restaurants and tavernas. However there are a few within a ten minute walk. There are only 4 taxis on the island and no reliable bus service so having your own transport is a must. The nearest supermarket is a ten min walk away.

it's a wonderful location, clean, 15 minutes' walk to Patitiris, excellent breakfast, staff who help you, with everything you need. quiet and a very relaxing environment.besides the fact that the island is a paradise, the hotel contributed to a wonderful vacation

We have had a very pleasant stay at the Yalis Hotel. Our room was large and comfortable with a kitchen area including a fridge also a kettle which for tea drinker was an added bonus as not usual in Greece . Fabulous pool area with bar and very comfy sun beds. Great location and base to explore the island. Breakfast was more than sufficient with plenty of choice. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Thank you all for a great stay x

We come back to this place because when we travel other places and its not so restful, we feel the need to return! It has been a haven in the past, we have been so well looked after - so it is a special place because of the people who look after us! And now we feel that we come back to see friends - almost family! The welcome is wonderful, after 12 or more hours travelling, to drop cases and jump in the pool is the most amazing start to a holiday. We stayed for 5 weeks this time, so we saw the clientele change and witnessed the ebb and flow of a small hotel business. Not all the guests are polite or respectful, some trash the pool area - but it never stays in disarray long, the staff ( there are only a few of them) are on to it straight away and calm is resumed quickly. The housekeeping team are excellent, friendly, cheerful and put a smile on my face every morning. So once again, many thanks Aggelos, Vangelis, Stavroula, Jimmy and the ladies in the housekeeping team. I cant imagine visiting here and you not being here. You are the heart and soul of this place. We celebrated an anniversary and a birthday and you made it a special occasion each time Thank you so much - you did it again!
