Dekeling Hotel

My study abroad group spent 3 days and 3 nights at the Dekeling Hotel in Darjeeling this January. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing, home-cooked buffet style. Some of the best tea I've had in my entire life (you will be drinking at least 3 cups at each breakfast). The heated beds were one of our favorite parts considering it can get pretty chilly up in the mountains. The location of the hotel was perfect, just a brief walk away from one of the main strips and the mall. Overall, this was my favorite accommodation between all of the hotels in all of the cities we visited this month. If we ever find ourselves in Darjeeling again, we will most definitely be staying at the Dekeling Hotel once again.

The very first experience of booking the room itself became painful. The lady at the reception accountable for booking was extremely rude and hung up in the middle of the conversation. Extremely disappointed. This is one area where people are in their most humble form to cater to their guests and this turned out to be the exact opposite one.

Actually we have deprived by one of Travel agent and a nasty hotel has been alloted for our 8 members. We in a hurry enquiring for a suitable property and fortunately meet with Mr. Saikat Banerjee, an executive, helped lot with his smiling behaviour greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The rooms were cozy and clean, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains 🏔️. The atmosphere and the ambience make sure our stay was comfortable and memorable, recommending great local attractions and restaurants 🍽️. The breakfast was delicious, featuring a variety of fresh options to start our day right 🥐☕. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the main attractions but still peaceful and serene. We can't wait to visit again and highly recommend Dekling Hotel to anyone visiting Darjeeling! 👍

Everything was good during my stay. The Dekeling Hotel is situated in the city center near all the restaurants. There is also a place with a fireplace where you can read and relax. During the nice days, there is an amazing view. Thank you, Saikat.

Excellent and convenient location! amazing view of the town and in close proximity to mall and good restaurants.

I would give 2 out of 5 due to below reasons. Pros: great location and very humble and cooperative staffs. Cons: not recommended as the hotel is at 4th-5th floor of the building and there is no lift. Standard non view rooms is having no window which lead the room to be a suffocating room. There is only one small window at bathroom and one at the roof which is good to be closed. Room is not having proper lighting, hence feels like horror one. Another surprise, while writing review i went for breakfast, and what i found is more surprising. First they said you are under ep plan. While challenging they asked me to show the voucher( they are too busy to check from their end. After showing the same they accepted to provide only bread and butter. What a surprise!

A very nice, clean and cozy place to stay that is also at the starting point of the mall road, just above the famous kunga restaurant. Keventer is also at a stone's throw away. It was a very good experience. I am very happy that i chose to stay here with my family for 4 days. I probably would stay here again. My special gratitude to mr. Saikat banerjee and mr. Vikram moktan. Thanks to their service. Pros: 1) rooms are clean and decorated with wooden furnitures and flooring. Room heater is available. Rooms are not at all moist y even in rainy weather, 2) toilets are clean, 3) no water issue. Hot water is available, 4) service is too good, people are very nice and polite, 5) location-wise very good, 6) food is very good. They also make less spicy food for children, 7) it has very well decorated classy lounges for spending quality time with friends and family. 8) kanchenjunga can be seen from the view rooms and also from the lounges on clear sunny days. Cons: 1) no lift. Need to walk up stairs to reach at the reception. Difficult for aged people. Suggestions: 1) need to put a hotel name plate at the out side, at the starting point of the staircase, because it is very much confusing to find the way to reach at the hotel reception. 2) they should move the sewer (or whatever is that) away from the entrance of the hotel.

Good experience, cozy place to spent time with your partner, good service, convenient location while going for outing.
