Stayed in a double room for two days. No water bottle and no shampoo ,no toothpaste, no telephone /intercom were provided. Good clean room. Shower tap was broken, cannot adjust the temperature and cannot turn it off, very inconvenient. Because of this, hotel shifted me to another room, bigger room with Shampoo and Telephone Included!! Haha! Two TVs in new room but no remote control provided.

None of the amenities advertised on the website are true, no bars or breakfast available only a bar separately at the front of the hotel. The website needs to be changed

Staff were always friendly and helpful. Location is great close to the station. Decor is basic and dated but the bath was good with hot water. Would stay again if in town.

Very close to hull train station and the center of town. Decor is dated but functional. The bath was big and comfortable and filled up quickly. Staff were friendly and helpful and made the stay easy. Staff and location the highlight for me.

Generally not clean, bitten head to toe off bed bugs, changed room and bitten again, would defo not recommend rather sleep in a sleeping bag in a door way, gym was 4 pound for 24 hours which is also terrible, generally got to be the worst hotel I’ve been in

I have stayed at the Gilson Hotel many times and found it to be excellent, unfortunately I had become ill during the day and I had to cut my visit short and return home. I was unable to get the electricity to come on in the room which was inconvenient and remained an unresolved issue, and I did not actually spend the night at the hotel.

The room was a good size. The bathroom shower was not great. The shower curtain in the bathroom was not really stopping the water from leaking out. There was no shampoo or shower gel provided. Had to purchase my own. The extractor was not working as well.

The room was not clean. Hairs still left on the bed and in the bath. The shower does not stay upright unless lowered to nearly the floor. A lot of rough people hang outside the hotel. Definitely would not recommend this for anyone. Positive is the location, its quite Central and cheap.

Great location in the centre of Hull & only 200 metres from the train station. Rooms were spacious enough & comfortable. Plenty of hot water & the heating worked okay. A TV in each room & also a kettle. I also liked the fact that you had access to a room with an iron & an ironing board. I have stayed in worse places such as the Easy Hotel. I can see why some people might think it is a bit soul less but it ticked enough boxes for me. Oh! & I almost forgot, the staff on receptionn are very friendly & helpful. The one I used to chat with a lot worked during the day & her name is Savannah.

My and my friend stayed and it Was alovely stay I definitely would recommend cause the staff was very helpful and polite and the rooms was lovely to stay the views from the window was wonderful and everything was there when we needed definitely will be coming back x

I didn't get much sleep at all and kept waking up and room was ok but I might stay here again but I don't know yet and the staff was helpful and really kind and it was ok but I don't know what else to say really apart from I am going to think about staying here again

very disappointed, we booked breakfast but was called the morning of arrival to be told they haven't done breakfast for about 18 months, but we booked on their website. the bed and sofa in the room were very uncomfortable and the pillows very flat, the shower went scolding hot while in there and couldn't be turned down, we were told someone would sort it while we were out, it wasn't sorted and could cause some serious injury if it was a child in there, we paid for the internet which still didn't work so wouldn't bother, we was supposed to be staying there next month but have cancelled and booked elsewhere.

My one night stay at the Gilson Hotel exceeded my expectations. For the very reasonable price and its location I thought it might be a bit small and noisy. In fact the room was spacious , comfortable and quiet. Had a great sleep. The shower was nice and hot. Would stay again.
